The man-made ‘Holodomor’ famine which ravaged Soviet Ukraine during the early 1930s is becoming increasingly widely recognised by governments and institutions around the world as an act of genocide against the Ukrainian people, but international public awareness remains woefully low. This Canadian movie by director Ian Ignatovich may help to raise awareness among mass audiences of what was Stalin’s greatest crime. The film is expected to be released in mid-2016.
