Exports of Ukrainian goods to Canada grew by 48.5% year-on-year in the first nine months of 2018 as the 2016 free trade agreement between the two countries continued to create new opportunities for Ukrainian exporters.

Ukrainian Ambassador to Canada Andriy Shevchenko said this growth had produced some pleasant surprises in unexpected sectors. He highlighted the rise of Ukrainian apple juice exports to Canada, where Ukraine established itself in 2018 as one of the country’s major suppliers. “This is a highly competitive market and Ukrainians have found a niche for themselves,” commented the Ambassador.
