Ukraine has reached agreement with Qatar regarding livestock product exports as Ukrainian agribusinesses continue to broaden their global horizons.
Ukrainian companies will now be able to export meat products such as poultry and beef along with dairy, eggs and fish products to the wealthy but agriculturally limited Gulf region state.
The opening of access to the Qatari domestic market is part of a broader trend that is seeing Ukrainian agricultural exporters enter new markets globally. During 2018, Ukraine secured access to 85 new export markets around the world for a range of agricultural produce.
Asia and the EU are now the leading Ukrainian agricultural export markets, accounting for 75% of the country’s USD 7.1 billion total agricultural exports during the first four months of 2019.
