The number of passengers using Igor Sikorsky International Airport in the Ukrainian capital jumped to 2.6 million in the first eleven months of 2018, representing a year-on-year increase of 53.7%.

So far this year, the airport’s most popular international destinations include Dubai (UAE), Rome (Italy), Ankara (Turkey) and Sharm el-Sheik (Egypt).

Meanwhile, Belarusian capital Minsk remains among the top routes thanks to its role as a transit hub for flights to Russia following an October 2015 freeze in direct flights between Russia and Ukraine in response to Russian military aggression in Crimea and eastern Ukraine.

Top domestic destinations from Sikorsky Airport include Odesa and Lviv.
