Ukraine exported USD 229 million worth of fruits and berries in 2018, representing a 17% year-on-year increase.
The biggest single product in the segment was walnuts, accounting for USD 117 million in exports and witnessing a 32% increase in volumes over the course of the year.
Frozen fruits and berries came in second place with USD 78 million in exports. Meanwhile, the segment with the largest annual growth was apple and pear exports, which climbed by 79%.
EU destinations dominated the list of importers. Poland was the top market for Ukrainian fruit and berry exports, accounting for USD 39.8 million, followed by Turkey (USD 20.4 million), France (USD 15.7 million), Belarus (USD 13.8 million), Greece (USD 12.9 million), the Netherlands (USD 11.2 million) and Italy (USD 10.2 million).
