Ukrainian railway authority Ukrzaliznitsia has begun trials of an additional train carriage on the popular Boryspil Express rail link service connecting the Ukrainian capital to the country’s main airport. Two-carriage tests began on 4 May, with the expanded service set to begin regularly during peak hours from 10 May.
Launched in late November 2018, the Boryspil Express has proven a highly popular service at a time when Ukraine is experiencing increasing congestion around Boryspil International Airport due to a sustained period of growth in the country’s air travel industry.
The rail link is seen as an important addition to Ukraine’s transport infrastructure that makes Kyiv more accessible and brings it into line with the expectations of international visitors.
