Ukrainian food exports to the United Arab Emirates climbed to USD 194 in 2018, continuing an upwards trend that has seen volumes increase by 36% since 2015.

In order to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the agricultural sector further, Ukraine’s Acting Agrarian Policy and Food Minister Olha Trofimtseva and UAE Minister of Climate Change and Environment Thani Ahmed Al Zeyoudi signed a cooperation memorandum on 20 February.

Ukraine has seen rapid expansion of its agricultural sector market share in Asian and African countries in recent years. The largest single importer of Ukrainian agricultural produce in 2018 was India. UAE’s heavily reliance on imports for food security make the country a natural partner for Ukraine.
